Off The Wall/Experimental Series
Master Quilter Lauren Austin exhibits her unique quilts along with a workshop.
In this workshop, Partners for Artisans grantee Lauren Austin will guide participants in using family photos to develop their own stories and act as inspiration for their own art quilts. We will transfer photos directly to fabric including computer/inkjet transfer. Students will learn Lauren's quick quilt - no piecing method to construct their own art quilts. Bring photos and any fabric you would like to incorporate into your quilt. Knowledge or experience with quilting is NOT necessary! Knowledge and experience of sewing with a sewing machine is helpful but not required. There are other methods of attachment such as glue sticks, staples, and hand sewing. This class has no rules other than to have fun! Participants will leave with an art quilt that they can finish at home.
BE SURE TO BRING A PHOTO AND FABRIC.
